Experience
TransGroup has 34 years’ experience in a range of roles including Project Director, Project Manager, transport planner and construction contract administration in consulting and State Government, TransGroup is a leading transport professional in Queensland. TransGroup has specialist skills in project development, contract administration, strategic planning, network/corridor planning, major infrastructure planning, integrated transport planning, policy development, detailed planning/design and business planning. TransGroup has extensive program and project management experience on a range of infrastructure projects in Queensland with a successful track record of delivery.
Leadership
TransGroup personnel have strong leadership skills, are excellent communicators and can guide a team of highly skilled professionals across all disciplines to deliver a detailed business case for major projects. TransGroup has extensive experience in managing a wide range of stakeholders across a range of projects and has demonstrated a willingness to work with and mentor client personnel as part of projects.
Project management
TransGroup has demonstrated they contribute towards and participate as a valued member of a team to determine the programming and methodology of works in consultation with the wider team and stakeholders. With this project management experience, TransGroup is well placed to provide excellent leadership and management to deliver business case for infrastructure projects.
Technical expertise
TransGroup has demonstrated on many projects that they can manage numerous activities and investigations being undertaken by technical officers within the agency and Contractors. TransGroup has grass root skills in detailed planning and civil design, through to area/network, corridor planning and has extensive experience in TMR OnQ project management methodology and PAF project development processes. He has an economics business degree and has a strong understanding of market forces related to the CSDP including factors influencing demand and supply for goods and services; forecast demand modelling and factors/assumptions to develop scenarios/options for assessment.
TransGroup also has a strong background in policy development including integrated transport and land use planning and can liaise/negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders. TransGroup has demonstrated strong knowledge and expertise across over 20 engineering elements. TransGroup has demonstrated this as lead for numerous large transport projects including scoping, reviewing and critiquing:
• Project governance, Procurement, Stakeholder interface; managing state and federal project approval and reporting systems (for example, Qld PAF, TMR OnQ).
• Identifying the need and service requirements
• Options analysis, assessment frameworks and preliminary evaluation
• Co-ordination and managing interfaces of design including geometric, earthworks, PUPs, Constructability, Active transport, Environment and Cultural Heritage, sustainability, Pavement design, Structures, Geotechnical and Hydraulics.
• Demand analysis including forecast modelling
• Delivery Model and Delivery Methods
• Cost estimating from first principles including risk analysis, escalation and reporting
• Economic, financial/commercial and affordability analysis
• Community consultation including property impact and acquisition processes including interfacing with private land/business owners and developers
TransGroup has demonstrated the desire and ability to mentor team personnel to enhance their experience and expertise as part of their profession development.
Contract Administration
TransGroup has lead and managed contracts for the development of major projects through the entire project lifecycle including concept, development, delivery and finalisation phases.
An example of TransGroups’ construction contract administration experience, working as a subcontractor, includes the $40m, 85km Warrego Highway (Mitchell to Morven) reconstruction project as part of the NDRRA program. TransGroup received excellent feedback from the Principal (BQ South West Region) for their performance in this role. TransGroup has a strong understanding of how the planning and design can minimise issues in the construction phase.
Project Handover
TransGroup has extensive experience in handover of significant infrastructure projects through the PAF Gates, particular from Business Case Gate 3 to Project Development Phase Gate 4. TransGroup received a very good result from the independent Gateway Review of the Mains/Kessles Road intersection upgrade project through PAF Gate 3. TransGroup also successfully assisted with the handover of the Ipswich Motorway (Rocklea to Darra) Stage 1 from business case to procurement and delivery phases.
